05/01/2012
In December, at a hotel in Nairobi two of Gates Aviation’s most experienced associate instructors were delivering a bespoke programme of safety management system training to members of the WFP’s aviation safety unit and to several of WFP’s contracted operators from East Africa. The two courses, tailored to the stated requirements of WFP ASU, were titled Practical Application of Risk Management, and Measurement – the Analysis of Safety Data, and were delivered by Mr David Mawdsley, former Director of Safety at IATA, and Mr Merlin Hibbs, previously Head of Quality and Safety at BAE Systems Military. Each course ran for two and a half days and offered participants a mixture of conventional teaching with workshop interaction. Attendee response via feedback forms was extremely positive with satisfaction ratings averaging 90%!
We will be repeating the ‘Advancing SMS’ training programme in Johannesburg, South Africa in early February 2012 – contact us for further information.
